Parking is all that remains of this spot, killed by Covid. (Got reminded to finish this review, started many moons ago.)

Closed!?! Drove by while running errands and thought I'd stop in for billiards. What a disappointment this historic community convention is no longer open. Was a high school hangout, a spot for college late night carousing, the scene of multiple reckless bowling nights, and countless kid birthday parties gone. It was the East Bay version of "America Graffiti!" Who'd of thought it would bring back memories?

Albany Bowl wasn't a bowling destination. truth be i can't roll in a straight line. my bowling ball is the same. i never learned the routine of taking the right steps, posturing my arm, body, legs and rolling the ball. so i'm lucky if i break 100. i'm pretty good at hitting the guttter lanes on either side or down the middle when no pins are present. my destination here is the sports bar (just beer, gin & tonic, bloody mary...) and whatever eatery is open here (burger, thai...). in the afternoons, they aren't busy. sadly, Albany Bowl will be closing soon.
